How to Play Bending Grounds

The public-beta loop: rank a kit, read projectiles, and stop losing to earth structure.

How to Play

How to play Bending Grounds is not a hidden campaign. CSL Studios’ Roblox public beta is an 18-player online PvP arena on mobile, console, and PC. You pick a Nation, you spin a style, you rank that style until master moves unlock, and you fight people who are doing the same thing with better dash timing. This page is the loop after Getting Started has you in the map with codes claimed.

The game is unofficial and fan-made, not affiliated with Avatar: The Last Airbender, Paramount, or Nickelodeon. Play the kit in front of you. Do not import another title’s combo sheet and assume the hurtboxes match.

The session loop

Spawn. Confirm you are on the slot you meant to play. If you still have unused codes, leave the brawl, open Character Customization, More Spins, Codes tab, and finish how to redeem. NewAir and WeGotPlant are Current Slot Spins; they will not wait while you eat Flame Kick. Then look at the tier list only long enough to remember what your style is for. You are not switching every death. You are ranking.

Ranking up unlocks master moves. That is the progression hook. Every idle minute in a spin menu is a minute you are not toward the move that actually changes a round. How to Spin Elements is for when the kit is genuinely wrong, not when you lost a 1v1. Fight, die, note why, queue again. The Guides Hub exists so those notes turn into a page instead of a rage reroll.

Read the four styles plus Chi Blockers

Fire wants space control and chip. Fire Blast is a projectile you must respect: other fire can deflect it, an earth wall can block it, it can apply a 15 percent burn, and dash clears that burn. Flame Kick is the close-range answer. It breaks earth and ice and ragdolls, which is how Fire beats a camper who thinks a wall is a lifestyle.

Water wants strings. The published route is on water combos: four punches, Water Geyser, four punches, Ice Breaker, rotate camera, Aqua Burst, four punches. Water also has a quest identity; the Hama Quest Walkthrough is how you find the old lady and draw water from grass and plants toward the bloodbending path.

Earth wants structure. Walls eat Fire Blast and stall Water approaches. If you are not Earth, your job is to make those walls expensive: Flame Kick, Ice Breaker, camera walks, and not throwing your only projectile into mud. If you are Earth, your job is to not stand behind one wall forever. Rank still matters; master moves on Earth are what turn a stall into a round win.

Air and Chi Blockers want mobility. Chi Blockers are not paywalled. Their dash feels acrobatic like Air. Air Funnel is blockable; if it lands, it ragdolls the target into the funnel. Do not treat Funnel as an unblockable win button, and do not treat Chi Blockers as a joke because they do not throw a Nation-coloured beam.

How to beat structure-heavy earth players

This is the matchup new players search after their first wipe. Stop throwing Fire Blast into the wall. If you are Fire, walk or dash to Flame Kick range and break the structure, then finish the ragdoll. If you are Water, do not start Geyser from a range where the wall eats the whole string; close with M1, break with Ice Breaker, then do the camera turn into Aqua Burst as written on water combos. If you are Air or Chi Blockers, do not Air Funnel a person who is clearly holding block behind a wall; bait the block, then funnel the recovery. If you are Earth yourself, you beat other earth by taking space after the wall, not by building a second one on cooldown.

Dash is still the universal answer to leftover chip. Burn from Fire Blast is a 15 percent problem until you dash. Controls is where that finger gets trained. A structure player who also tracks your dash cooldown is no longer a structure player; they are just better. Lab the cooldown, then come back.

What not to do while learning

Do not dump spins because a sub-bending clip looked rare. Do not skip codes because you already spawned. Do not run executors to skip rank; scripts and script safety are on this wiki so you can see why that ends accounts. Do not ignore updates. The beta tracker and Air and Plant notes will tell you when a string you labbed is a museum piece. Confirm rumours on Discord and socials, not on a random executor thumbnail.

Use the combo lab to test a string you already understand. Use the spin planner only after a session, never mid-loss streak. Style pages under Players are reference. This page is the habit: rank the kit, read the projectile, break the wall, dash the burn, then write down the death.

How to play, in one line: the public beta rewards the person who treated the last round as footage. Everything else is flavour.

Keep a three-line match log, not a highlight folder. After each loss write the tool that hit you (Fire Blast, Flame Kick, wall, Funnel, Geyser), whether you dashed, and whether you threw a projectile into structure. Ten fights later the log is your real tier list. Reread controls for the dash line, water combos if Geyser is the hole, and spins only if the log says the kit is wrong, not your timing.

FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

Quick answers to the most common questions.

How do I actually play Bending Grounds after spawning?

Claim codes if you have not, rank your current style toward master moves, and fight with dash and M1 first. Full first-hour order is Getting Started.

How do I beat earth players who only plant walls?

Stop throwing Fire Blast into the wall. Close and use a breaker: Flame Kick for Fire, Ice Breaker for Water. Bait block before Air Funnel. Details are in the earth section above.

What does ranking up do?

Ranking up unlocks master moves on the style you are playing. That is why spins tells you not to reroll after every loss.

Is Fire Blast a true unblockable?

No. Fire can deflect it, earth walls can block it, it can apply a 15 percent burn, and dash clears the burn. Treat it as a projectile with answers.

Are Chi Blockers a real style or a joke pick?

Chi Blockers are playable and not paywalled, with an acrobatic dash similar to Air. They skip Nation beams, not the movement game.

Where do I learn the Water string?

Water Combos has the four-punch Geyser route. Hama is the quest that sits next to that kit.
