Bending Grounds Hama Quest Walkthrough
How to find the old lady, pull water from grass, and understand the bloodbending path.
The Hama quest is the Water-side story beat people actually search for in Bending Grounds. In the Roblox public beta from CSL Studios she shows up as an old lady, not as a glowing tutorial arrow, and the job she gives you is easy to fail if you treat it like a kill quest. You draw water from grass and plants. That is the mechanic. The bloodbending path sits behind that work. This walkthrough is how to find her, how to complete the gather, and what to do after so the quest is not a one-time cutscene you forget in PvP.
You want Water on the current slot. If you spun off Water to chase a thumbnail, read How to Spin Elements and get back. Claim codes first so NewAir and WeGotPlant are not sitting unredeemed while you wander. Getting Started is the first-hour order; this page assumes you can already dash and M1. Controls if you cannot.
How to find Hama
Load into the 18-player map and think NPC, not boss. Hama is the old lady. Walk the settled, grassy, and planted pockets of the battleground rather than the open duel floor. Players who only patrol mid for 1v1s miss her because she is not in the highlight. Look for an older woman NPC with a quest prompt, then talk. If the server is loud, finish or leave the current fight; the prompt is easy to skip while someone Flame Kicks you.
Community reports put her near vegetation on purpose, because the quest is about plants. If you cannot find her, ask in Discord (https://discord.gg/bendinggrounds) rather than inventing a second Hama. Patch days can move NPCs; check updates and the beta tracker after shutdowns. This is not Bending Battlegrounds 2 and it is not Avatar Legends: Bending Grounds. Those are different games with different quest layouts. Stay on place 103745056080809.
How to complete it
After you accept, stop punching players for a minute. The objective is to draw water from grass and plants. Target living green: grass tufts, planted beds, anything the map reads as plant, not puddles in the stone courtyard and not an enemy Water user. Use your Water gather on those sources until the quest ticks. If nothing ticks, you are aiming at decoration that is not tagged, or you are on the wrong slot.
You do not need a full water combo to finish the gather. Geyser is for PvP. Here you need the draw. Move from patch to patch instead of standing on one decorative bush. Earth walls and other players will still hit you; dash as usual. Fire Blast burn is still a 15 percent problem you dash off. The quest does not make you invulnerable. If the area is a war zone, kite to a quieter plant cluster. Completing it in mid is how people die on 90 percent progress.
When the gather completes, return to Hama and turn in. Do not assume auto-complete. Talk again. The bloodbending path is the fork this quest is famous for: you are being aimed at a Water identity that is not just ice and geysers. Public beta wording can shift, so treat “path” as the questline’s direction, not as a guaranteed instant unlock of every bloodbending move the moment you click. Rank still unlocks master moves. The quest is the door, not the whole kit.
What the path is for
Bloodbending is a Water branch, not a separate Nation. After Hama, lab how that branch changes PvP, then go back to strings. The core combo on water combos is still four punches, Geyser, Ice Breaker, camera, Aqua Burst. Use the combo lab to see what actually combos after the turn-in.
Earth walls still exist. Ice Breaker still matters. How to Play is the matchup sheet; Hama does not replace it. Water and sub-bending are where the branch sits. If the path feels weak, that is a tier list question, not a reason to skip the quest.
After the turn-in
Do one real PvP set as the new identity, then write what changed. If nothing changed in your hands, you skipped gather tags or you are still on pre-quest muscle memory. Re-read this walkthrough, then the Guides Hub. Keep spins banked; spin planner after the session. Other styles live under Players (Fire, Earth, Air, Chi Blockers). Hama is mandatory for this Water path, not for the whole game.
Official links live on the wiki hub and socials. Plant-themed drops also show up in Air and Plant notes; those are not this quest. Do not run a script to teleport to her. Script safety is the warning. Walk to the grass.
Hama is find, draw, return, then PvP with a plan. If you cannot find her, you are looking in the duel pit. If the quest will not tick, you are not drawing from tagged plants. If the path feels like nothing, you have not labbed a single string since the turn-in. That is the whole walkthrough.
After you turn in, fight one earth camper on purpose. Draw once from a plant cluster if you still can, then go to the wall and play the Water string you already know. The quest is finished when Ice Breaker still comes out of your hands, not when the dialogue does. If bloodbending tools appeared, spend ten minutes only on those buttons in a quiet pocket, then retire for the night. Tomorrow you mix, not mash. That is the post-Hama identity, and it is the part most walkthroughs skip.
Frequently Asked Questions
Quick answers to the most common questions.
Where is Hama in Bending Grounds?
Look for the old lady NPC near grassy and planted pockets, not in the middle of the duel floor. Talk to her. If a patch moved her, confirm on Discord.
How do I complete the Hama quest?
Accept the quest, draw water from grass and plants until it ticks, then return and talk to her again. Do not treat it as a player-kill quest.
Do I need Water to do Hama?
Yes. This is a Water path. If you spun off Water, use spins to get back before you hunt the NPC.
What is the bloodbending path?
The questline points Water toward a bloodbending identity after you draw from plants. Rank still gates master moves; the turn-in is the door, not every move at once.
Does Hama change the Geyser combo?
The core string on water combos still starts with four punches and Geyser. Lab any new buttons after the turn-in; do not delete the seven steps.
