Getting Started in Bending Grounds

Nation, codes, spins, and the first-hour order that keeps you from wasting a slot.

Getting Started

Bending Grounds is a Roblox public beta from CSL Studios: 18-player online PvP on mobile, console, and PC. Your first hour is not about looking rare. It is about leaving Character Customization with codes claimed, a Nation that matches the element you want to main, and enough dash-and-M1 reps that the first 1v1 is a fight instead of a tutorial. This page is that hour, in order.

The experience is unofficial and fan-made. It is not affiliated with Avatar: The Last Airbender, Paramount, or Nickelodeon. Play it as an original elemental arena. Do not import combos from other battlegrounds titles and assume they land here.

Join, pick a Nation, stay in customization

Open Bending Grounds on Roblox. Finish the Nation prompt. Stay on Character Customization. That screen is where codes actually live: More Spins on the right, then the Codes tab at the bottom. If you skip it and spawn into the 18-player server, you will spend Current Slot Spins on the wrong slot or miss them until you hunt menus mid-fight.

Pick the Nation that matches the element you want to main. Fire, Water, Earth, and Air are the four bending styles. Chi Blockers sit beside them as a non-paywalled option with an acrobatic dash closer to Air than to a wall kit. You can still spin elements later, but Nation flavour, quests, and how the lobby reads you all start here. Random Nation plus random spin is how people burn NewAir and WeGotPlant before they know what they like.

Redeem, then do not dump the stack

Follow how to redeem codes. As of this writing the tracked actives are NewAir for 5 Current Slot Spins and WeGotPlant for 6 Current Slot Spins. Type them exactly. Roblox codes are case-sensitive. If a string fails, check expired codes before you assume the menu is broken.

Current Slot Spins apply to the slot you are on. Redeem before you reroll the element you actually wanted. Then stop. Do not mash the remaining stack because a clip on TikTok (@BendingGrounds) looked cooler. Open the spin planner, read How to Spin Elements, and keep a buffer. Ranking up unlocks master moves on the style you actually play; a lucky rare you cannot move with is worse than a common you can dash on.

Learn dash and M1 before flashy buttons

CSL Studios has not published a complete official keybind table for this title. Community-observed battlegrounds defaults on PC are M1 for punches, Q for dash, F for block, and Shift for sprint. Treat those as typical and unconfirmed until you check your own device. Mobile and console remap the same verbs onto thumbs and face buttons. The controls page is the honest version of that, including camera work you will need for Water later.

Find empty space. Throw M1 strings until the four-hit rhythm is automatic. Dash once after a string, once as a panic, and once through a projected hit. Fire Blast can apply a 15 percent burn that dash clears. Earth still needs dash, not only walls. Air and Chi Blockers live on the acrobatic dash. Water players should not skip this drill to chase Geyser. How to Play explains why movement beats a copied ultimate.

One quest, then PvP with intent

Do not jump into the first 1v1 you see. Run one quest so the kit has a goal besides “hit people.” Water players should go straight to the Hama Quest Walkthrough: find the old lady, draw water from grass and plants, and understand the bloodbending path before you lab water combos. Other styles still benefit from a quest because ranking toward master moves happens while you play, not while you stare at the spin button.

After that quest, PvP. Servers are 18. You will eat Fire Blast, Flame Kick, earth walls, and Air Funnel whether you are ready or not. Read the matchup notes in How to Play so you know Fire Blast is deflectable by fire, blockable by an earth wall, and dash-cleared when it burns. Flame Kick is close-range, breaks earth and ice, and ragdolls. Air Funnel is blockable and ragdolls people into the funnel. None of that replaces reps, but it stops you from treating every loss as “my element is bad.”

What to open on this wiki after spawn

Use the Guides Hub as the index. Style pages live under Players: Fire, Water, Earth, Air. Tiers sit on the tier list, split into elements and sub-bending. Patch talk is Updates, the beta tracker, and Air and Plant notes. Links sit on the wiki hub, Discord, and socials. Treat script safety as a warning, not a to-do. The combo lab is for strings you already understand.

Set a 60-minute clock the first time you load in. Minutes 1 to 10 are Nation and the Codes tab. Minutes 10 to 25 are dash and four-hit M1 in a quiet pocket, not a brawl. Minutes 25 to 45 are one quest, Hama if you are Water. Minutes 45 to 60 are two or three real fights, then you stop and write down why you died. That clock is the beginner guide. The rest of the wiki only works if you actually ran it.

FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

Quick answers to the most common questions.

What should I do in the first hour of Bending Grounds?

Pick a Nation that matches your main, redeem codes on the current slot, practise dash and M1, run one quest, then PvP. Do not dump every spin.

Where do I redeem NewAir and WeGotPlant?

Nation select, Character Customization, More Spins, Codes tab. Full clicks are on how to redeem. NewAir is 5 Current Slot Spins; WeGotPlant is 6.

Should I spin immediately for a rare element?

No. Read How to Spin Elements and keep a buffer. Ranking up unlocks master moves on the style you play, not on a slot you mashed away.

Are Chi Blockers locked behind Robux?

No. Chi Blockers are a playable style with an acrobatic dash similar to Air, not a paywall class.

Which guide do I read after this one?

Controls and How to Play next. Water mains add Hama and water combos.
